As you might remember, week 3 started off with me having to do my long run on Sunday. Yep, started the week off with 14 miles. The run wasn’t bad but man was it cold out. Now I’m used to running in cold weather but it has been a minute (actually three seasons ago 🙂 ). Even with my stank face, I got out there and handled my business.
If I do as well as I did on this run (hills included) I should be just fine with making a PR on my next half. 🙂 Now mind you my goal for my next half is a sub 2:00.
Needless to say, the rest of the week was almost nonexistent. I’m not sure if I was just tired from running the 14 miles on Sunday or if I was just tired of running period.
I wasn’t feeling it but I did try to get out there and run on Thursday evening after work (and you know how that goes). I hate running after work. Even more, I hate running by myself after work. Nevertheless, I ended up running 3.5 miles that day and according to my watch it was the longest 3.5 miles ever (I still believe my Nike Sports watch GPS is off in the evenings :)). Time for a new watch….top on my Christmas list is the Garmin Forerunner 920XT!!!

I did somehow managed to get back on track with a long run on Saturday. Alarm was set for 5:45 am, I woke up, got dressed and headed out the door an hour later (no time to really think about it…just got up and moved). I really felt great during this run despite having to run by myself (again). It was nice passing other runners on my route…didn’t feel quite so alone out there.
I really hope my energy towards running changes soon because I really do miss just getting up at the sound of the alarm and hitting the pavement. Guess I will have to change my energy starting today (Thursday of week 4), because week 4 training looks almost identical to week 3.
I’m on the struggle bus with running right now…my motivation is GONE.
