Ok, it has been a minute…
🎶Allow me to re-introduce myself…..in my best H-to-the-O-V voice 🎶
The last time I left off, I was eight months into some competition prep ( link). I say some because I never set my sight on an actual date. Well, that was almost two years ago. Wow can’t believe it’s been that long.
Sooooo, what has happened in two years…..
Well, I wish I had some good news to share about reaching my goal but I haven’t just yet. No sweat tho’, I’m still in it to WIN it!!!
Yes, I’m still VERY determined and yes, it’s still VERY much a goal….it’s just taking me a little longer to get it together. That’s ok!!! Cause I’m still grindin’. Don’t stop get it, get it!!!
Two years and I’m still trying to figure things out. Left my first competition coach (yeah there’s been two) back in August 2017. Nothing wrong with the coach, I just got tired of feeling like I was wasting coins. And just working out with no date set was wasted energy. Oh well, a lot of lessons learned.
I continued to work out on my own but things started going in the wrong direction back in November. Looking back I know I was dealing with a lot.
Stress is not good for the mind, body or spirit. Get right, and aim to stay right!!!
Found a new coach and started working with him in January 2018. I had him for about five months and in those five months my scale didn’t budge nor did my pants fit any looser. What the hello!!!!
So, to once again feel as though my coins were not just going down the drain, I let him go at the end of June 2018. At this point in the game I’m still trying to figure out what’s working and not working for my body.
During the last four months in 2018, I had blood work done at the recommendation of my last trainer because he figured it could be hormonal (test came back fine).
I tried intermittent fasting and really enjoyed it but again no noticeable changes. I even cut out wine in 30 day stints (didn’t see any difference with NOT consuming so ummm still trying to figure that out).
I researched fitness over 40 and man let me tell you, when you get to be my age, shit slows way down. Yeah, yeah, I know there are ways around it and that’s what I’m working on right now.
Oh, I also researched eating for my blood type, and it seemed that everything I was eating every day were the very things that were not working according to my blood type (B+). Since the research is not backed by science, I took it with a grain of salt. I did cut out chicken breast and avocados (my favorite fat of ALL times) for a little while and what do you know…..nothing. 🤷🏾♀️
Sooooo I’m still at it (never going to give up). I’m still working out, eating right, and just really focused on what’s working and not working. I’m back to logging my workouts and meals daily.
I stopped weighing myself and now focus more on how my body feels. For me, weighing myself kept me accountable but it also made me feel like crap when it didn’t read what I “thought” it should had. ”
Whose got next?
Well, 2019 and I’m still at it!!! Was introduced to a new trainer that started out on the same path as I (ova 40).
So I’m claiming it this year, 2019 WILL be my year!!! I started working with my new coach on the first of January. I gave up wine y’all!!!
I will try to come through on a regular basis and update you all on my progress on this new journey.
