This week started off with a bang!!! I was hitting my training plan hard!!! I felt awesome and feeling more and more confident in my upcoming race. But near the end of the week….I fell off.

Mesocycle 3: Week 3: Dusting Myself Off (AGAIN)
If at first you don’t succeed…dust yourself off and try again!!!
As you may recall, week 2 was a major fail because my body had its own agenda. Being sick that week really sucked but maybe it was my body’s way of telling me to slow down. Since I’m very hard headed, I guess that’s a good defense mechanism, because I probably wouldn’t have stopped otherwise. I was so looking forward to the start of week 3. I was feeling better and I really felt like I needed to feel the ‘run’.
On Monday, I met up with my sole sistah Karen from BGR! Augusta and got in a five mile run in the pouring rain (it started out light but then started to come down). Now mind you, Karen had just finished a half marathon in the rain the day before. But my sole sistah still showed up to meet me for a run in the rain (again). Days like this make me realize how much I miss living in GA. I’m officially taking applications for new running buddies in my area. If interested let me know below in the comment section 🙂 .

My goal for this run was to get in 6 miles at my CP but we headed back before reaching the church (dagg I should have ran to the church…I was already wet). Oh well, I ended up doing 5 miles at my CP and I felt great!!! It felt great just being back on the pavement after a week of no running at all. I’M BACK!!!
Not quite…
Gamecocks Run 6K – February 28, 2015
On Saturday, I ran in the Gamecocks Run 6K. When I first saw the flyer for the run, I was really excited!!! I’ve been a Gamecock’s fan since I can remember. So to run this and support the athletic department was a win win in my book. This race marked the first ever Gamecocks Run hosted by The University of South Carolina (USC) Athletic Department & event producer, JAM Active.
Interview with SY
Well this week was very interesting to say the least. If you read my post from last week (you can find it here) you will remember that I was sick at the end of that week. Well that sickness turned out to be a sinus infection and on top of that an ovarian cyst (maybe too much information). So, unfortunately, I was unable to get a run in or even workout all week. For me that was a real BUMMER. I feel a little better now (not in as much pain) and am really looking forward to getting back on the pavement (hopefully Monday (fingers crossed)).
Well, since I can’t talk about how my training went this week; I wanted to give you a chance to find out a little more about my love for running. I’m going to do this in an interview style with questions and answers. Here goes…
Mesocycle 3: Week 1: Getting Back to the Basics
OK, so you know how I was bragging (yeah let’s just call it what it was) in my post from last week about having my conversation pace (CP) of 8’45 reevaluated 🙂 . I felt like, since I really had that pace down pack that maybe it was time for a readjustment. Well, let me just say I need to go have several seats. This week running at my CP was very…
